Operation Backpack is the Minnesota and Wisconsin Volunteers of America’s annual drive to collect new backpacks filled with school supplies for at-risk children from low-income families in the community.

Operation Backpack benefits the agency’s current clients, including foster children, inner-city students, special needs youth, and those with mental health issues. The agency also offers backpacks to community partners throughout the Twin-Cities serving at-risk youth.

Each year, thousands of kids go back to school without the supplies they need. With the help of Capella Tower tenants, the fundraiser can make sure more of them are able to start the school year off right—well-equipped and ready to learn.  Brownson & Linnihan, PLLP is in its sixth year donating backpacks to the fundraiser.  Provided with a school supply list, this year the firm shopped for the supplies that two middle school students will need for their upcoming school year.
